"Magic" was destined for the USA, but unfortunately a change in her future owner's circumstances meant she couldn't be sent and she has therefore remained here with the pack. She is a very pretty girl; intelligent and quick to learn. She has a very strong bond with her playmate "Ash" and the pair are inseparable. We are looking forward to seeing her first litter at the end of 2012/early 2013.

It was with a broken heart that I had to say a final farewell to "Magic" yesterday. She has been showing her age over the last year (11 years old) and this time last year I didn't think she'd see last Christmas. However, she was an amazingly strong willed and determined old lady and courageously kept going, but needed a little help to get to her feet. She was devastated to lose her mum "Ruby" two years ago and almost gave up when we lost her lifelong best friend "Ash" recently. She soldiered on but suddenly went downhill last week, stopped eating and couldn't even be tempted with cooked chicken or her favourite sausages. My good friend Steve helped me yesterday, gently lifting her into the van so I could take her to the vet. She bravely walked into the vet surgery, leaning on me for support, and I was feeling terribly guilty at betraying her trust - but she let me know I had made the right decision and in her normal independent way she took control of the situation by collapsing on the floor and passing on her own before the vet had chance to give her the injection.

She was the gentlest, kindest wolfdog and a brilliant loving mum to all her babies. I have some wonderful memories of her - especially the time she jumped an 8' gate when she was heavily pregnant and about to give birth in order to get to a den she'd dug down the garden. Fortunately her mum "Ruby" alerted me and we were able to coax her out of the den.

She is greatly missed by the pack, who have been calling to her, and by "Quest" who has now lost all of her little pack.

Run Free sweet girl with your mum and all your old friends. You've left an enormous whole in the pack and in my heart.
